Aug 20 2009 shame on Scotland for trampling victims' rights (Lockerbie)

Jul 21 2009  shame on the Tour riders for screwing Hincapie out of yellow ...I saw SI's list of remarkable performances by older athletes - emailed them add'l suggestions (Longo, Dave Scott, etc)

Jul 6 2009 congrats to Federer at Wimbledon, as well as the Williams sisters (both singles&doubles) ...I will likely post tennis-related stats file to my site as time permits.  Roddick acquited himself well with his improved game

Jun 26 2009 ok, my first ride on road since the 12th accident , many thanks to coworker Dave Reindl (Cooper Union) for building up a bike from my parts and his frame.  Initial baseline TT time posted 25:56, I'll take it ...

May 14 2009 well, bad bike crash has me at home for a bit - quick-release wheels are great ...xcept when the release at speed! A couple vertebra fractures, concussion, road rash, helmet/glasses/bike trashed.  Ok, bike frame, helmet & glasses will all need replaced...at home til at least May 27th

Apr 6 2009 read some great quotes from the FreeThinker Robert Ingersoll ... just got Derbyshire's Prime Obsession from PBS

Feb 16 2009  add NFL top pos'n players by rating QB/WR/RB

Feb 11 2009 thought Rourke did great job in The Wrestler...bad wellness fair numbers, so back running and trying to eat a bit better (damn genetics!).

Very glad to see Alison Krauss recognized by Grammys, she is most awarded female in Grammy history now, 3rd tops considering both genders...personally album was a bit "down" in theme for my taste, like my Bluegrass stuff (I recommend internet radio Bytes of Bluegrass)

Feb 2 2009  I posted an update to my Twin Primes page Twin Primes and Goldbach's Conjecture re: Bernoulli numbers (sums of products of integers etc).

Jan 20 2009 well, been offline a while ...big virus issue home laptop (the Worm that hit 9 million others as of today?), installed Xubuntu 8 (dual boot), like it (it also comes with Gnumeric).  I got the Atheros/Fon2200 wireless going (worked straightaway).  Only brother printer DCP 110C remains to work properly, more on this later...problems likely related to kids' game playing etc.  Anyway, working on some random number eval and orig encryption scheme.

[12/04/2008 add link to draft ethics lists from class

11/16/2008  starting my list of potential Executive Orders to send to President-elect Obama ...maybe I'll post, includes a mix of areas like politics, poverty, veterans.  Have also derived a "modern" list of Ethical Commandments:   Ethics2009.pdf     as part of a class I just took.  I tried to be fairly comprehensive, though many details for each would have to be in place for completeness.  There are 22 items (vs the orig Ten Commandments).  Send me feedback or questions but my time is limited.

I must report the winner of the San Sewer Classic has left our firm but retains eligibility to defend/participate as an ex-employee.  Good luck to the Armenian Xpress in his new position, but he is eligible to defend.

have moved this year's Roth $$ over to etf TAN (alternate energy)...

after gastric bypass surgery, my sister is now size 8, 160#

also, moved from other methods to using Audacity recording of Pandora music, very handy, both ogg&mp3 formats play in WinAmp player

[8/12/2008 update time trial times/closeout -Raffi three-peat

7/11/2008 fiddling with BuzzDash; tested A047160 thru integers 4.29E9 w/o "-1"

6/16/2008 upload file for 2000/2004 election data; prep for symmetric prime narrative

http://controls.engin.umich.edu/wiki/index.php/ControlsWiki:About

5/3/2008 got my Netbeans/MySql stuff going at work...NB templates gives a nice little "CRUD" jar interface into ones data

4/9/2008 I just grabbed SAGE in hopes of trying it out (like Octave but w/ number theory thrust)...I also just was xposed to GNUMERIC, like it more than OO Calc for my purposes...also trying Sunbelt firewall

  • has anyone looked into FLT (Family limited trust)?
  • I attempted to use Java class (isreachable) to essentially perform a "ping", it does not work reliably, or at least does not match with cmd line ping results to various internal subnets ...anyone have any experiene with this? suggestions?
  • I am now/still a top 600 contributor to the GIMPS project (Nov 2008)
